Rowan eyes a return to glory

GLASSBORO There was a time not too long ago when failure to reach the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl constituted a poor season for the Rowan University football team.

So despite 15 wins over the last two years, the Profs’ coaches and players are noticeably antsy about a three-year drought of failing to even qualify for the postseason.

“The seniors said in the beginning of the year we feel partly responsible because ever since we’ve been here, we haven’t made the playoffs,” said quarterback Tim Hagerty.

Coach Jay Accorsi, entering his ninth season as head coach and 18th overall at Rowan, admitted the staff took a long look at every aspect of the program after last season’s 7-3 record.
